Natalie Hemmens grew up on the beautiful coast of central Maine. With an early love of fashion but limited access to it, Natalie experimented with unique ways to present herself to the world. Wearing shirts inside out, backwards or creating new shapes with recycled clothing was the norm to update her trendy wardrobe.
While studying Business Management at the University of Maine, Natalie made and sold clothing out of her apartment basement and opened an online fashion boutique to supplement her income. After graduating, Natalie moved to New York to study fashion at Parsons & work on 5th avenue where she learned the foundation of managing a handbag line. Natalie continued her fashion education in an advanced study program at the prestigious Los Angeles fashion school, FIDM: Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising.

Natalie started her own line of leather handbags in 2007, which now features the HEMMENS collection: Men and Women’s high-end luxury leather bags & accessories. Natalie is one to set the tone of a trend and doesn’t follow the rules of fashion. Her bags have captured the attention of celebrity clientele and clients from around the world.

In 2010, Natalie
expanded HEMMENS into a Los Angeles based manufacturing business by providing manufacturing services at her local facilities. Design assistance, technical packages, product development, sampling, pattern making and production are only some of the services HEMMENS has to offer.
Students and community members can keep up with fashion by taking workshops and sewing classes, for more information view the company BLOG.
